This training is designed for school social workers and other mental health professionals working in education settings who are seeking realistic, actionable tools to sustain their well-being while meeting the growing needs of students and families. Whether you are new to the field or a seasoned practictioner, this session offers support from one social worker to another—grounded in shared experience and the realities of school-based practice.

This webinar will be conducted live via Zoom, ensuring a convenient and accessible learning experience for all participants. Please note that a recording of this training will be available. To receive a CEU certificate, participants must complete a post-assessment.

Vanessa Flores Newton, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, is the Owner and Founder of Colors of Austin Counseling in Austin, TX - a diverse, community-focused collective of therapists offering culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.

Vanessa has been in the field of Social Work for over 10 years now. As of lately, most of her work has been with women who are facing difficult life transitions and experiencing feelings of shame, low self-worth and loss of identity. It's been described to her as feeling trapped in one's own body.

In addition to providing therapy services, she is also the Owner and Founder of Brave and Well, a consulting business designed to empower mental health professionals with the tools and resources they need to build thriving private practices, and a Co-Founder of SocialNote with her husband, Brian Newton.

Most but not all mental health professional regulatory boards accept out-of-state (Texas) and/ or online continuing education hours.  CEUs are not “accredited” by national boards.
